The first SMS ever sent was on December 3, 1992 with the content “Merry Christmas.” The text message was sent via the GSM network of Vodafone in the UK by Neil Papworth.   The message was delivered to Richard Jarvis, on the same network – Vodafone.  The first message was sent using a PC to mobile phone.
